Skincare going more than skin deep…

K-Beauty for the Holidays | A Shopping Guide

Can you believe the holidays are almost upon us? Seriously this year has flown by!

Gifting time is upon us and I seriously love gifting K-Beauty! I know, I know, kind of sounds like a gift for myself but hear me out.

I love to gift skincare items because it’s an easy way to encourage self care. Seriously, so many people in my family and friends circle are way stressed out and don’t take nearly enough time to rest and recharge. Skincare and beauty are great ways to encourage them to take a little time for themselves. And I love that it is something they can use and use up! (Not everyone wants more stuff that takes up space)

But of course, gifting skincare can be difficult or even sensitive depending on the person you are gifting to. I always try to stick to a gifting philosophy when it comes to skincare: Don’t be too pushy and keep it general.

Skincare is so individual and you don’t want to push your own skincare views on to someone. Not everyone is down for a full 10-step routine or knows what to do with a serum. You also want to shy away from gifting something that might feel offensive (acne treatments, wrinkle fighters, etc). That’s why I like to keep my skincare gifts somewhat general (hydrating focus) and I like to stick to treatments like masks and sleeping packs that don’t require a huge commitment.

And I like to keep it reasonable when it comes to budget. You don’t want to gift an expensive product only to find out it never got used or caused hives. I would gravitate away from full size products and expensive treatments (unless you know they absolutely want it). I do give some full size products, but they are in the form of masks and are still reasonably priced.

K-Beauty Gift Grab Bag

Do you have lots of women in your family, need multiple, inexpensive gifts for 4-10 people? Create a K-Beauty gift grab bag!

This is my all-time favorite way to gift a little something special for all my aunts and cousins. It’s a fun little extra gift for them, shows some personality and care, and doesn’t kill your budget.

What you’ll need:

1-2 packs of your favorite sheet masks.

(try to stick to hydrating and soothing ingredients like aloe, propolis, hyaluronic acid, and centella.)

Examples:

Leaders Amino Moisture Masks Pack of 10*
Missha Pure Source Cell Mask Aloe Pack of 10*
Tosowoong Pure Propolis Mask Pack of 10*
Freeset Donkey Milk Skin Gel Mask Pack of 10*

1-2 packs of your favorite non-sheet mask treatment.

Examples:

Etude House Collagen Eye Patch Pack of 10*
Kao Megrhythm Steam Eye Mask Lavender Pack of 14*
Holika Holika Piggy Nose Blackhead Removal Kit Pack of 5*

1 little standout extra.

Examples:

Tony Moly Petite Bunny Gloss Bars*
Innisfree Jeju Life Perfumed Hand Cream*
Tony Moly Pocket Bunny Mist*

Small gift bag or cellophane treat bags (can find great deals at craft stores).

The idea here is to buy in bulk and split up between the number of gifts you need to give. This can serve as a great skincare sampler for your friends and family. (plus, you get to keep any extras!)

Skincare Stocking Stuffers

These ideas are perfect if you need a small gift, but want to make it a little more personal than a grab gift bag.

Selfie Lovers:

Bliss Holographic Mask*
A by Bom Super Power Baby Ultra Floral Leaf 2 Step Mask*
SNP Cosmetic Animal Character Printed Mask*

Mask Queens:

Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Hydro-Gel Mask*
Dr Jart+ Dermask Ultra Jet Porecting Solution Bubbling Charcoal Mask Pack of 5*
Lululun Premium Koyto Green Tea 7 Day Mask Pack*
I Dew Care Double Down 2 Step Mask*

Full Sizes Worth Gifting

So you need to make a big impact with your gift? Look no further than these mask suggestions.

Too Cool For School Egg Mousse Pack*
Dr Jart+ Shake Shot Hydrating Modeling Mask*
Haru Haru Wonder Cream*
Etude House Bubble Tea Sleeping Pack*
Cosrx Sleeping Pack Honey*
Cosrx Sleeping Pack Rice*
Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Sleeping Mask*

I would recommend sticking to the wash-off mask or sleeping pack category because it’s something totally luxe and fun (especially for the skincare uninitiated) but still not pushing a full skincare philosophy or routine on someone.

I hope you all have a beautiful and K-Beauty filled holiday season!
